Jewelry Care
Jewelry Wear
- Picobe Collection specializes in selling previously cherished jewelry, spanning from antique to vintage and estate pieces. Each item carries a unique charm, displaying signs of wear consistent with its age. While all of our jewelry is ready to be worn and loved, it is essential to note that certain pieces may be more delicate and not suitable for everyday or rigorous activities.
- For porous stones such as opals, pearls, and turquoise, avoiding submersion in water is crucial. Closed-back stone settings should always remain dry. Though hard stones such as diamonds and sapphires are suitable for daily wear, they can still chip or break upon impact. Additionally, every stone, prong setting and band may wear over time, so even durable pieces require mindful handling. Activities such as dishwashing, swimming, or exercising can be harsh on jewelry, so it is advisable to remove them beforehand. Fine jewelry has the potential to last a lifetime; treating it with care will ensure it will last multiple lifetimes.
Jewelry Cleaning
- Prior to being offered for sale, Picobe Collection ensures the cleanliness of all jewelry. However, if you wish to maintain their sparkle, we recommend using a soft cloth and a soft-bristled toothbrush. For pieces that can tolerate moisture, a mix of warm water and gentle soap is ideal. While an alcohol wipe is included in many orders as an option for sanitizing metal components, it is not recommended for use on stones or enamel. Some orders may also include a polishing cloth and a microbrush. The polishing cloth helps remove dust, oils, and tarnish, while the microbrush cleans hard-to-reach areas within grooves and stone settings.
